    Lawrence (Larry) Butler has been a trusted advisor to governing boards, CEO’s and senior managers of a broad range of organizations with special expertise in strategic planning, organizational development, business and financial planning, marketing, and strategic performance monitoring. He is a Founding Partner of Nextrategy Associates, LLC, a strategic marketing consultancy. 

     

    Larry began his consulting career with The Boston Consulting Group when that firm was developing its first groundbreaking corporate strategy concepts. At BCG he was responsible for assignments on behalf of corporate and institutional clients in the United States and abroad. He subsequently co-founded Institutional Strategy Associates, a consulting firm specializing in strategic planning for nonprofit, institutional clients in fields as diverse as healthcare, higher education, museums, and philanthropy. More recently, he was a principal with The Ross Group where he led that firm’s strategy and change-management practice, working closely with the senior leadership teams of entrepreneurial and family businesses. Larry has also served as Senior Consultant with Maguire Associates, specializing in strategic planning for colleges and universities. 

     

    He has written extensively on corporate and institutional strategy and governance as well as on improving the display of strategic data via dashboard reports. He has been a conference speaker on these and other topics and has taught Business Ethics at Northeastern University. He is the proud recipient of a Certificate of Recognition from the U.S. Department of Defense for his military service.

    In addition to his consulting work, Larry pursues a range of creative interests. For several years, he was editorial cartoonist for The Boston Phoenix and Boston Herald-American. Through his DrawingPower Studio, he’s been a practicing cartoonist, caricaturist, and illustrator. He recently established Butler Did It, LLC to market inventions of his own design and other works (of which this book is one.) Larry holds a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
